Both my wife and I are now working from home. Since I do technical support on medical equipment (laser retinal scanners) I can work from anywhere I have my computer for remote login and a phone to talk to our technicians on site. As long as our field techs can get to the medical facilities where the equipment is, I have a job.
Unfortunately, during working hours I don't really have much opportunity to listen my system, even though my home office desk is in the same room.

I go to work. I'm a tradesman. People are still asking to have work done. Young people seem to be if I get it I get it and I will be fine.

To a degree I practice safe distance. I don't crowd around anyone and I avoid places where sick people gather like grocery stores. I have an organic food delivery for most all I need. I still slip in for meat when no one seems to be there.

My wife is working from home so when I am here I stay quiet. Today I'm working in the garden starting plants for the new year.

Yeaterday my neighborhood gathered for an after work drink. Oddly this is the closest everyone seems to be. People are out walking their dogs, playing with their kids. I said to Nancy, this will be the time kids say, remember when mom and dad were home and we were a family. Everyone stops to say hi. We just keep a reasonable physical distance. It's actually been quite nice in my neighborhood.

FWIW, the city dwellers are going crazy. locked in their 500 sq ft. The reality of over density is hitting home. Those people can't go anywhere, can't be on the street without passing very near questionable individual. They are stir crazy and loudly complaining at work. They want back to their even smaller cubicle for a change of scenery. They want to escape to the bars and restaurants. I wonder how many will be there when the closures are lifted. I know some have permanently closed.

I am currently distancing myself about eleven feet from my speakers.

I see with a respiratory virus toilet paper is in high demand, so I suppose if a diarrhea pandemic starts nasal spray will be in short supply.

My wife is taking a chance heading to the grocery store. According to our Nextdoor.com page, one of the five nearby stores actually has eggs and bread, and are limiting how much people can buy. Hopefully she can get something.

Wow, eggs, bread, pasta, wine, and several other things that we haven't seen in a store since all this started.

I guess I'll be distancing myself mostly from home for at least the next 10 weeks (4 days vacay & 1 at the office per week). We're still operating but at such a reduced degree that business is down about 90%. I'll be reacquainting myself with albums I haven't heard for awhile & finishing off my Discogs catalogue project.

One site is saying 5% of all the covid-19 cases in the world are in New York City Myles be careful the world really is out to get New Yorkers .

Not sure with testing being so sparse how they know that only 23,000 tested in my province of 14.5 million that tells you very little.

The Who says test test test the return call is test with what odd times stay safe

I assume that everywhere I go is contaminated with the virus. It can live longer on smooth surfaces like metal or plastic. Soap attacks its fatty external membrane and destroys it, which is why washing your hands with soap does the trick. If shopping I bring paper towels with me to handle stuff I'm buying. I also bring hand soap (alcohol works too as it also dissolves the fatty membrane of the virus) in case I need to disinfect something on the fly. The problem is you can't know if you have it and you can't know if anyone else does. It can take up to two weeks for symptoms to manifest (if they do- in some case they don't but you can still be contagious); after symptoms subside you can be contagious for up to 37 days!

This is why this thing is so insidious! If you are around old people (over 60 or so) its a good idea to wear a mask (because you might be a source of contagion without knowing it). Otherwise a mask is not that much protection to yourself; most people don't use the good ones correctly!!

I also use gloves when out and about. I clean the steering wheel in my car; I use a paper towel to take change when I pay for something. It will have to be cleaned. I've seen people using a credit card, but just pushing the buttons on the card reader with bare fingers and doing the signature the same way- the card reader is a nexus point for the virus. I've stopped doing rehearsal with my band- the band members might be OK for now, but the actual rehearsal space becomes a nexus point too.

You really don't want to get this thing- what it can do to your lungs isn't pretty. Even 'light' symptoms look like a bad cold and can keep you in bed for a while. Co-enzyme Q10 is helpful preventing pneumonia which is a common complication (it can't help you with the virus directly). So it might be good to have some on hand.

Even if you are young this thing kills. The Trump administration conducted a study last year that almost exactly mirrored the actual outbreak; that study got ignored. So we are really unprepared since the Trump administration also refused testing kits from overseas. We're on our own- by the time we see testing commonplace we will be seeing our medical facilities overwhelmed. So its important to stay healthy and avoid the hospital if at all possible! Sorry to be such a downer.

We have been inadvertently practicing social distancing since we moved here. We both love staying at home. It’s our favorite place to be. We seldom ate out at restaurants before the pandemic because my wife has celiac disease and most restaurants can’t be trusted to ensure her food has no gluten. Most restaurants who advertise they have a “gluten free” menu are catering to people on fad diets. You could give the fad dieters a plate load of gluten and they wouldn’t know it. Not so for those with celiac disease.

So the reality for us hasn’t changed much because of the coronavirus. Except for gas and groceries, we are home. We haven’t been out together since we went to the local animal shelter in October 2019 and came home with a beagle. Charlie can’t be trusted to be home by himself yet. I’m afraid the house will never be the same.

I wear gloves when out of the house, bring my own pen in case I have to sign a credit card receipt and a tablet stylus if there is a touch screen or buttons involved. Antiseptic spray and hand sanitizer in the car, so anything I use gets cleaned immediately.
I am not at all hesitant to make sure I keep a safe distance from people, nor am I hesitant to ask people to move if they are too close to what I need to get to.

I have been under quarantine since more than 11 days following a direct exposure to someone who was infected. My country went in total lockdown a week ago. Luckily, I have not developed any symptoms so far. I have been working from home like all my colleagues. Less commute means more music.

To cheer me up, my daughter sent me this picture. Her cat is ensuring strict adherence to the containment. Don’t trust that big guy. He can be nasty and his claws are sharp.
