Its funny how this story keeps popping up. The first time I saw it was about 25 years ago in Electronic Design magazine.
Last year seems to me Korg announced a chip technology based loosely on this concept as well.

Thank G-d. I was worried it was an article about the comeback of 8 track tapes or something. Yeah, my wife (who reads the Times) forwarded that one to me. Nano-tubes? Tube-bots? To paraphrase Kevin Costner, science is "neat."
