Chad produces laquers for quality records. As long as he is still pressing records, I will be happy. Many of these other outfits doing rock/pop reissues are using digital to cut their laquers. I have no use for them.

Now now johnny not all dodgital is bad. For me if it's from tape to dsd and that would be used for laquer it might be even better lol. But I get your point though. Honestly how much can can assured of its purity meaning chain of custody
and then how much is your faverite in quality. How surprised would you analog people be if the good stuff was from dsd from tape
i am at a point of both disgust and exhaustion trying to find what I think is great or pure. I feel we are looking for a virgin ina White House at times. Lolanalog stuff.

and they said it was over when:
they stopped making vacuum tubes
stereo was introduced
the radio replaced records
and
the 78 was phased out in favor of the 10" LP.
Just remember, in the immortal words of John Belushi,
We did not give up after the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.

So far we've not had any troubles getting lacquers or styli, although we've not been ordering in large quantities.
I also think something is exaggerated in that article. When a lacquer comes in to a pressing plant, they plate it right away. Once that is done it might be a while (weeks or months) before you can get a test pressing, but once the plating has been done the storage can be for years with no worries.
