Lo Fi but interesting to some of us.
This is "Tapeboy: Jared Houser" by integratedtalent on Vimeo, the home for high quality videos and the people who love them.

Don't know but they're being shared on the internet.

Guess I thought the interesting part was how many concerts Jared went to. He's seen a lot of great groups over the years.

Some groups like the Dead encouraged their fans to tape their concerts and they also traded tapes.

Funny that taping concerts seem to be a rock thing. Never hear anyone doing that for classical; would imagine maybe some have for jazz but not well known, at least to me.

Taping in jazz occurred as early as March of 1947 when Dean Benedetti began recording Charlie Parker's live performances on a disc recorder. Being specifically interested in Parker's playing--and to save disc space--he recorded only Parker's solos. The results are available on a Mosaic cd box set.
