  • Is there another name for 12" 45 prm records?

I often see them called 45 rpm LPs but that's wrong because they are not long players, and only 12" 33s are LPs.

Are you referring to a 12" cut at 45rpm like the Blue Note reissues from Music Matters, or 12" Singles cut at 45RPM?

Either, any 45 rpm record is not an Lp, but what do you call the blue note 12" 45 reissues?

Coincidentally, yesterday I received a recent changes Discogs' email about The Oscar Peterson Trio's We Get Requests - Analogue Productions 45 rpm. I normally don't look at these but this time I did.

        The change was:

from - 2 × Vinyl, LP, 45 RPM, Album, Limited Edition, Remastered, Stereo, 200gm

        to -
        2 × Vinyl, 12", 45 RPM, Album, Limited Edition, Remastered, Stereo, 200gm

Many years go there was a debate on Discogs forum about this. All I can recall is the LP was defined by the playing time. Basically discogs was using the definition of LP as JCOConnell appears to be referencing. The discussion was going round and round, without a definitive resolution in sight. Based on Randy's post should we call them 12"-45rpm-albums?
