    What? It isn't April fools yet, I checked.

    Well, after a little research it seems like the technology is real, with provisional patents. It's not ready for prime time outside the lab yet, no one knows how difficult the processes will be to scale in size to be useful and affordable for industry, or how difficult or easy the product would be to use in the real world, or how expensive it would be.

      I saw that article too a while back. It's of course driven by the EPA's banning of lead in solder and no one being happy, at least in audio, with the Pb substitute solder. Time will tell if it actually sticks around but sure seems a really interesting new technology.
