  • What Did Santa Leave Under The Tree?

We know Xmas came early at Christians! πŸ˜‰

Xmas present from Heidi! 45 rpm BS&T set from Acoustic Sounds! Fascinating story about the band from DCT included! Didn't realize albums 2-4 recorded by Roy Halee.

King Rex PSU MK ll for my acoustic revive rr 888 If you haven't tried this tweak in your room I highly recommend it. The MKll brings an even greater sense to my music.
My lady gave me maple shades cd holders and record storage units. They are all made of solid oak with a beautiful clear finish. Very lucky guy I am this Christmas Day )

I got the BS&T Bloodlines boxset too , also early along with 7 more Bluenote 45rpms from my wife.
My mom sent me the new George Harrison LP boxset. Lots of Music Direct gift cards and Bob Dylan The New basement tapes LP from Bro and Sis. Two very cool Record store T-shirts to add to my collection, The Corner Record Shop in Michigan and VooDoo Records in New Orleans. Oh, and a few USB 3.0 flash drives to make my mix drives.
Some other stuff but this was the audio related stuff. A good Christmas for music!

Listened to the Jack Johnson this morning. If you like his early stuff you will love this. Another beautiful recording too. Need to get all his earlier LP again, as all the ones we had (we had all of them) were my son's, and he has them in Florida now.

Not new for Christmas however, having had the GFS sitting in a box for months I will put it on this week and test drive it. I also ordered and received the headshell holder from Kuzma. I will swap in the GFS and the RSP this week.

I have albums coming in weekly for most of the month a few Steeplechase recordings as well. Lots in the evaluation pile to get through over the next week. I found a Japanese pressing of one of my favourite Brand X albums as well - I'll compare it to the original pressing.

I bought an early pressing of Josh at Midnight to compare to the reissue that Ramseur did; it is a very good record and got me into the Piedmont blues, which I hadn't really focused on-- Ramseur has a new release from an active band that is "roots" and fingerpicking. It's pretty good- I gave it one listen, but will be playing it again and will likely be writing a review shortly.
Love some of Steve Wilson's stuff.

I'd not heard of Josh until maybe 6 months ago. I walked into my local record store and was greeted with "hey you'd probably like this." It was a 1957 copy of "Sings Ballads" and they were right, I liked it. At Midnight is even better. I especially like "One Meat Ball." The Steve Wilson discovery was thanks to a recent discussion here.
