There was a letter writer published during TAS' early days constantly taking HP to task on his descriptions of the sound stage width having audible effects outside of the speaker positions. The guy was from Hong Kong and would record himself banging sticks walking the perimeter of his listening room trying to recreate the 'effect' to disprove HP's assertions. it unfolded like a serial over several issues and Harry took it all in stride. Anyone know that guy's identity?

Francisco may be right on the name. I might be remembering HP's title for the letter.

Looks like he wrote letter to JA too!

Stuck out here in the desert depths of the Southwest, we look forward to visits from out-of-towners. So when David Wilson, one-time audio reviewer but now full-time high-end manufacturer, called to say he was going to be in Santa Fe, there was a flurry of activity. David had agreed to an interview, so I started going through back issues of The Absolute Sound and Stereophile for background.

Wasn't there some other disagreement with HP over Quad speakers?
