  • You Go Sony

This is more about video than audio but really about customer service.

I was having issues upgrading the firmware on my Sony projector so I called tech support. Boy, was I surprised with this experience.

First, I got through to a technician in less than 1 minute.

Second, the person immediately seemed knowledgeable even though this new firmware came out the same day. Granted, the upgrade process didn't change.

Third, we got disconnected but he called back within 2 minutes.

Finally, he called back 20 minutes after the upgrade process started (he said it would take 15 minutes) to make sure: 1) the firmware indicated on the info screen was the new one and 2) everything was working properly.

I was both shocked and pleased with this experience.

I do remember the days when Sony was the home electronics company. Maybe they are making a comeback.

That’s certainly a refreshing change from trying to talk to someone you can’t understand or is reading from a written script. Kudos to Sony!
