          The raw aluminum sheets used for the speaker enclosures. The sheets are lifted from the pile, put into a computerized CNC machine where many different parts of the enclosure are cut from the one sheet. That ensure minimal waste from the raw materials. BTW, everything left over here is either recycled or used for other parts or projects. YG has a sizeable investment in the CNC machines. Around $2.5 million dollars plus about $80K a year for regular maintenance. There are definitely many types of overhead and investment that aren't necessarily appreciated in building speakers.

          Picture 1 and 3: machines used for "finishing" the end of the wires used in the speakers so the connection remains as new for the lifetime of the product.

          Picture 2: Some anodized parts.

          Picture 4: Rack of parts waiting to be mounted and sent for anodizing.

          That was kind of a natural given Bill Parrish is probably YG's biggest distributor. 😉

              Couple more interesting facts about the XVs:

              6200 parts go into each pair of speakers;
              240 hours of machining go into each pair of speakers;
              6 week delivery time.

                  Myles is of course me and Mark is MEP or Mark Pearson. We went out the day before RMAF and Yoav and Dick were exceptionally kind to spend several hours with us showing us around the factory and letting us listen until the sun was going down. (BTW, Dick Diamond and I go back to when we both wrote for Audio Adventure magazine! Dick left the magazine and joined YG when it was then just a fledgling company.)
