These are the new GT 3 Audio Works planar magnetic speakers. They feature no crossover in the critical 6 foot planar mid range, pure 6N copper foil traces on the thin film membrane and a non-segmented continuous ribbon tweeter.

The Sound Insight SI 600 open baffle servo subwoofers will be on display with the GT speakers at Capital Audiofest from November 3 through November 5 at the Hilton in Rockville, Maryland.

This year we will be utilizing the Pass Labs XS preamp and Pass Labs XA60.8 monoblock amplifiers. Additionally, we will be utilizing Triode Wire Labs cabling throughout the system. The front end will consist of the Esoteric K01X SACD player and Acoustic Signature Turntable feeding the XS phono stage.

VAC/Valve Amplification Company will exhibit in the Potomac Room at the upcoming Capitol Audio Fest, November 3-5 in Rockville, MD.

Kevin Hayes, President of VAC, stated, “In 27 years, this will be the largest, finest, highest performance music system we have ever displayed, and we are so pleased to be in the largest room at the CAF’s Hilton venue.

“We will be using four of our flagship Statement 450 iQ mono power amplifiers to biamp the incredible Von Schweikert Audio Ultra 11 loudspeakers. Our displays at Axpona, Munich, LAAS, and San Francisco, dubbed ‘the million dollar system,’ won accolades with these speakers, but were not biamplified. The results in DC will be unprecidented!”

The VAC show system will also include the award winning VAC Statement Phono Stage and Statement Line Stage, MasterBuilt cables, Critical Mass Systems equipment racks, the Esoteric Grandiose digital system, Transrotor Orion turntable with AirTight PC1 Supreme cartridge, and open reel tapes played on a special Techics RS1500 deck custom modified by J-Corder.

A smaller system will also be on display, consisting entirely of component priced at less than $10,000 each.

VAC is a Sarasota-based internationally known and award winning manufacturer of high end stereo components based on vacuum tube technology. Their breakthrough iQ Continuous Automatic Bias technology is protected by U.S. Patent 8, 749,310. All VAC products are handcrafted in Sarasota, Florida USA.

        Press Release for Immediate Publication

Gingko Audio introduces revolutionary, patent-pending vibration control devices Mini-ARCH and Super-ARCH at Capital Audiofest in Rockville, MD, November 3-5, 2017

Since its introduction in 2002, Gingko Audio’s patented Cloud vibration control platform has been sold to thousands of satisfied customers. It has made Stereophile’s Recommended Components List since 2004. Although the Cloud Platform reduces vibrations over a wide range of audio frequencies, it does not provide a stable base for heavy speakers. The patent-pending ARCH is a vibration control device designed specifically for speakers.

The ARCH is a curved multilayered band. The material of the band, the number of layers and their thicknesses vary across the different ARCH models to account for the varying weights of speakers and audio components. The ARCH’s efficacy as a vibration control device hinge on the following features:

        • The ARCH is made of wood-based materials with excellent absorbing quality – vibration is dissipated and very little is reflected back to the speaker.
        • Its constrained-layer design filters vibration at different frequencies thus minimizing what is transmitted.
        • Its curved shape acts as a leaf spring to turn vertical vibration into smaller sub-components in the vertical and horizontal dimensions. The horizontal sub-components are not reflected vertically back to the speaker.
        • It rests on the floor on an edge thus minimizing transmission both ways – downwards and upwards.
        • It provides a stable base to keep the speaker cabinet from moving and allows the speaker drivers to work as intended.

In our experiments, we found that the ARCH works well under spikes but works even better in place of the spikes.
Although the original ARCH was conceived for speakers, our tests have indicated that the design works equally well under other audio components such as amplifiers, preamps, CD players, or turntables. The Mini-ARCH is thinner and carries lower weight loads but can be stacked to support heavier weights or to tune the sound to your personal taste. We find that stacked Minis make the suspension stiffer, resulting in a more dynamic, punchier sound. Single Minis provides a softer suspension, resulting in a fuller, richer sound. The Super-ARCH is a premium version of the original ARCH for use under speakers and heavier components such as amplifiers, with improved sonic performance and a more finished look.

At Capital Audiofest, we will prove the efficacy of the ARCH in a real-time visual and audio demonstration using two identical systems, one with ARCHs and one without. Come to the Monroe Room to see this exciting demo for yourself!

Visit Room 126 for your chance to win a complete $2000 stereo system from MarkAudio-SOTA, VPI Industries, and PS Audio
System Giveaway MarkAudio-SOTA Teams up with VPI Industries and PS Audio at the Capital Audiofest for Demos and Show Package Giveaway
The room’s dual systems will feature PS Audio’s Stellar Gain components paired with MarkAudio-SOTA’s Cesti Towers, Viotti One bookshelf speakers as well as highlight the new Tozzi speakers, utilizing PS Audio’s new Sprout integrated amplifier and VPI Industries’ Cliffwood Turntable

Visit our demo for your chance to win a complete stereo system from MarkAudio-SOTA, VPI Industries, and PS Audio (pictured below)

Washington, DC (Capital Audiofest Room 126) – November 3, 2017 - MarkAudio-SOTA invites you to "hear our difference" at Capital Audiofest, November 3-5th, where we will be showcasing our unique, single driver Tozzi One & Tozzi Two loudspeakers, along with our full roster of tower and bookshelf loudspeakers. Offering the rich midrange that is typical of a wide-range, single speaker design, the Tozzi series of speakers are excellent for near-field listening whether mounted on a desktop, bookshelf, wall or tripod. They’re the perfect combination of superb quality and affordability that will appeal to millennials looking to enter the audiophile market.

To provide listeners with a rewarding experience at the show, MarkAudio-SOTA will offer two separate demos. The first system teams the company’s tower and bookshelf speakers with PS Audio’s Stellar Gain Cell DAC and Stellar S300 Power Amplifier. The Stellar Gain Cell DAC provides an exception analog preamplifier combined with a full-featured DAC. Fully balanced circuitry and a Class-A preamplifier result in a rich, full-bodied sound sent to the Stellar S300 amplifier. The amplifier employs a Class-A analog input stage with a Class-D output stage to ensure the speakers are driven with both grace and slam to produce outstanding sound.
MarkAudio-SOTA’s second system will showcase the ability and affordability of the $445 Tozzi One loudspeakers with PS Audio’s new $499 Sprout integrated amplifier and VPI Industries’ $900 Cliffwood turntable for an excellent starter system that won’t break the bank. The pure sound of Vinyl LPs will spin on VPI’s new entry-level turntable that will feed the Sprout’s internal phono stage. The little Sprout still offers numerous other inputs and a sizeable 50-Watt per channel built-in digital amplifier that offers more than enough to power speakers much larger than the Tozzi’s, at a price that will be as attractive as the sound quality. This total package, with a retail at less than $2000, will be awarded to one Capital Audiofest attendee that simply demos our show system in room 126.

"MarkAudio-SOTA is really excited to exhibit our new Tozzi One & Two near-field monitor speakers at the Capital Audiofest with two great partners PS Audio and VPI Industries," said Dwight Sakuma - President of MarkAudio-SOTA North America. "The highly detailed sound that this package offers from their stylish and compact profile is sure to impress the younger generation looking for an affordable way into the high-end, audiophile market."

MarkAudio-SOTA invites media to stop by our exhibition room (126), or schedule a private meeting, to demo the amazingly natural sound that comes from using wide-range drivers. Please contact Mike Wood or look for Mike or Dwight Sakuma in the MarkAudio-SOTA booth #126 at the show!

            About MarkAudio-SOTA:
MarkAudio-SOTA loudspeakers come from a dream team of specialists in each aspect of speaker design-including speaker drivers, voice coils, seamless crossovers, and cabinets-to build best-in-class sounding speakers with build quality and visual appeal to match. Combining the collective knowledge of audio science and flow dynamics with innovation, Markaudio-SOTA utilizes custom components designed and engineered from the ground up. The company's relentless pursuit of quality is evident in both its collaborations and its product. Working in close cooperation with MarkAudio, LTD., a longtime favorite in the custom speaker building market, MarkAudio-SOTA combines custom versions of Mark Fenlon's wide frequency range driver designs with minimal control networks from industry expert Scott Lindgren. Add custom voice coils by Matsubara San, a 35-year transducer veteran, and cabinets by renowned designer Andrea Ponti to that driver-crossover combination and the result is a superb rendering of sound in speakers that will exceed consumer expectations. Markaudio-SOTA is truly a greater sum than all of its parts.
