While I thought the sound in this room was fine (though it sounded to me like the voices were too forward and hard sounding (and perhaps unnaturally centered), I was puzzled by the acoustics behind the unit. Many designed listening rooms will have a hemisphere or QRD diffusers on the front wall to handle the reflections, so I asked the designer how his unit compared to QRD diffusers in design and function. Very strangely, he said he was not familiar with Quadratic Residue diffusers.

Cat gear is "No JOKE" experienced there amps and the room at Axpona 2018 for the first time It sound was extremely transparent lots of resolution and easy to listen to for a shoe closet IMO:-))

I liked the look of the new Levinson amplifiers.




This needed to be said. Attendees were on their worst behavior at this show and saw things have never ever seen at a show before. And hopefully will never again. Texting was out of control. One person just sat there and talked on his cell phone while people were trying to listen. Stay home! Another person who was standing in the hallway of the room challenged an exhibitor about the sound of an LP. There seemed to be more self proclaimed experts at this show than I've ever seen before.

If it's a room you really want to listen in, there's nothing wrong with telling people to be quiet. I've never had a problem doing that, though not everyone responds well to it!
And as far as self proclaimed "experts" go, I still cringe but laugh thinking about a LAOCAS meeting a couple years ago when an attendee tried to explain to Andrew Jones why coaxial driver simply don't work or sound good!

Sounded better than the ESD horns. The Phase Linear was a blast from the past as were some of the other vintage components.

For one your comments are a reflection of our age group Marty but more importantly many of us are truly bored with same old latest and greatest year after year after year, there really isn't anything new and novel out there anymore. Also now with the power of internet thanks to Myles and others show reports like this cover it all, do you think you missed out on anything after looking at his pictures?
