        PRESS RELEASE:

California Dreaming - Audio At It's Best!

        Portland, Oregon - May 2016

Blue Light Audio, the North American Distributor for darTZeel, Evolution Acoustics and Wave Kinetics, will team up with Alma Music and Audio, Southern California's most innovative audio dealer, to present some incredible World Premiers at the upcoming T.H.E. Show in Newport Beach on June 3rd - 5th at the Hotel Irvine in the Quail Hill room.

Evolution Acoustics' Jonathan Tinn and Kevin Malmgren will present their newest addition to the highly acclaimed MM Series of loudspeakers... the MMThreeEXACT. Evolution Acoustics MMTwo and MMThree loudspeakers transport you into the breathtaking realm of natural music: less hi-fi, less reproduced, less processed; more immediate, more unconstrained by technical limitations, more real. The MMExact line takes this journey to the outer limits of sonic possibilities, delivering much higher emotional content. This is done, not by added tonal warmth or artifacts, but by allowing the signal to be fully rendered, keeping it absolutely pure and completely faithful to the artistry of the original event. Evolution Acoustics wants you to experience your music in ways you never thought possible; from the discovery of subtle-nuances previously unheard, to rich and boundless soulful expressions resonating to your core.

The Evolution Acoustics MMThreeEXACT loudspeakers will be driven by the unmatched sonics of the legendary darTZeel NHB-458 Monoblock Amplifiers and newest generation of the darTZeel NHB-18 NS Preamplifier with built in Reference Phonostage. For one of the analog sources, Wave Kinetics will provide the most speed accurate and speed consistent turntable system available... the NVS Reference Direct Drive. It will come with Durand Tonearms' latest offering, featuring a breakthrough in composite armwand technology... the Kairos tonearm. Mounted on the Durand Tonearms' Kairos tonearm will be Ortofon's top of the line moving coil MC-Anna reference cartridge.

For the next analog source, Analog Audio Inc., one of the leading providers of "everything analog tape related", will provide a 1/4" 2 track reel to reel tape machine along with some of the most incredible master tapes for your listening pleasure.

Vandersteen Unveils Earth-Shaking NEW Stereo Subwoofer at T.H.E. SHOW Newport!
SUB NINE Delivers Perfect Bass in Virtually Any Room w/ Built-In 11-Band Room EQ, Adjustable Q/Contour and Much, Much More

Suite 341: Optimal Enchantment System Will Feature Prototype of Vandersteen Audio's New SUB NINE, Model Seven Mk II Speakers, M-7 HPA Amp & More
The SUB NINE is Vandersteen Audio's most audacious subwoofer system yet, manufactured and sold only in stereo pairs, which is how subwoofer systems always perform their best. Adding the SUB NINE to any speaker system adds the low-end acoustic power required to drive even the biggest, most demanding rooms.
Each SUB NINE cabinet is loaded with a massive, power-factor-corrected 400-watt amplifier, and a 13-inch down-firing cellulose fiber-foam-cellulose fiber cone that slot loads into the room. But the SUB NINE's sophisticaton and adjustability are no less powerful- each sub's onboard 11-band room EQ, adjustable Q/contour and level controls ensure that users can obtain perfect bass in virutally any room.
As with Vandersteen's powered bass speakers and subwoofers the SUB NINE works in conjunction with an outboard 6dB/octave high-pass filter, which dramatically improves overall system performance by relieving the main amplifier of low-bass duties and lowering intermodulation distortion. Where other powered subs are typically bumped up or rolled off at the crossover frequency, the SUB NINE's internal amplifier gently raises the sub's output at 6dB/octave as the high-pass rolls it off to reconstruct ripple-free, flat frequency response at the 100Hz crossover point. The SUB NINE is expected to be in full production by 4th quarter of 2016.
This entire system assembled by Optimal Enchantment will be flagship-level, showcasing both Vandersteen's Model Seven Mk II speaker and Vandersteen's radical new M7-HPA monoblock amplifier. Basis Audio will provide its top-of-the-line Work of Art turntable with Audio Research Corporation's REF-10 Series front-end electronics. Isolation stands and bases from Harmonic Resolution Systems (HRS) and cabling and power-line conditioning by AudioQuest will be featured as well.
Please join Vandersteen and Optimal Enchantment for great music, great sound and great company!

Visit Vandersteen Audio and Optimal Enchantment at Suite 341 and Hear:
            • Vandersteen Audio SUB NINE, Model Seven Mk II Loudspeakers, M7-HPA Liquid-Cooled Monoblock Power Amplifiers

At RMAF, the Statement amp was recognized by many publications such as The Absolute Sound ("Auspicious Debut"), Digital Audio Review ("Best of RMAF 2015") and AudioCircle.com ("Best of Show").

We're proud to showcase this new ultimate accomplishment, with production to start shortly after the show! Come by room 211 to see and hear this cutting-edge new amplifier.

Newport Beach, CA—June 1, 2016: Merging Technologies is proud to announce that the result of a new partnership with Roon Labs can be seen and heard at T.H.E. Show Newport 2016 June 3rd – 5th. The Merging NADAC player was a success at the HIGH END show in Munich. The concept of Roon’s ground breaking player program being offered in integrated solutions is not new—there being many existing partners with products available—but this was the first time that the focus has shifted to a complete turnkey and networked solution offering multichannel capability up to DSD256 and DXD.

The Merging NADAC was launched at the 2015 HIGH END to much acclaim and has been fortunate to have received several rave reviews for its amazing transparency and for the advantages of the RAVENNA/AES67 networked solution. A variety of player solutions including Merging’s own Emotion player can be used with an external computer but this concept is not the first choice for all users. The ‘single box’ solution with the software and the server combined with a DAC removes the need to have a computer in the living room. The ease with which the whole system can then be controlled by tablet or smart phone enhances the user experience significantly. Integration details such as direct control of the NADAC volume and mute from the Roon user interface also adds to the overall ergonomics by simplifying the control of the entire system from one single page on one single tablet.

Roon is well known to provide a superlative user experience with its friendly interface and the most comprehensive database available for the music lover seeking information on all aspects of his favorite track. Marrying Roon to the best sounding and most transparent DAC available and providing multichannel playback would be noteworthy enough but the addition of true networking advantages provides a degree of in-home flexibility that users could only dream about.

Merging also announced that this solution can be retrofitted to all Merging NADAC units already in the field and to any units shipping from now on, meaning early adopters can take advantage of the upgrade if they wish. Pricing and options for this solution, as well as cost for the upgrade of existing units and delivery date will be announced at Rocky Mountain.

Roon’s CEO, Enno Vandermeer commented; “We have admired the innovation and devotion to excellence that Merging has demonstrated with their entry into the audiophile market. This dovetails with our objective to be at the top of the performance table as well as having the best user experience.” On Merging’s behalf, Head of Software Engineering and NADAC Product Manager, Dominique Brulhart stated; “We have carefully evaluated the trends and needs of today’s audiophile and it is clear that a Roon enabled DAC is a very elegant solution. We are delighted to be working with our friends there to maximize all the advantages that we can both offer. Customers can still choose other player solutions with our technology, as well as other DACs with Roon, but we think this combination will be hard to beat.”

The Merging NADAC player will be shown this week at T.H.E. Show Newport in the Pelican Hill Room on the ground floor of the Hotel Irvine (June 3rd-5th). No info on pricing or delivery yet.

                    Eclipse — Room #410

From 3 – 4 PM every afternoon, Philip will be spinning discs at the Eclipse TD room #410, reminding audiophiles how terrific SACDs sound and playing some recent titles, such as Santana III, Harry Belafonte Sings The Blues and Vanessa Fernandez’s When The Levee Breaks.
“It’s a great opportunity to trawl through my SACD collection and play the Best of the Best through some remarkable speakers that seem to coast under the radar of many audiophiles. The single driver, crossover-less speakers—once properly positioned—can completely disappear, delivering a three dimensional soundstage. Close your eyes and you will be convinced that Ella Fitzgerald is casting her magic right in front of you. The vocal delivery is so palpable, your brain will be fooled into believing that this performance is happening right now before your very ears. One of the benefits of near-field listening is that it removes the room’s acoustic inadequacies from the equation. Think of these as headphones on steroids, but delivering a perfectly proportioned soundstage to boot.

“The Eclipse TD subwoofers have been designed to keep up with these super fast monitors, and deliver a cushion under the music. While the small listening room at Newport only needs one subwoofer, we are going with two, as we know that two will be able to deliver a more uniform bass across the room. Nothing spoils the music faster that a sub that can’t keep up, or one that draws attention to itself. We are looking for a disappearing act!

“Driven by Luxman’s flagship Class A integrated amplifier L-590AX II and accompanied by Luxman’s new entry level SACD player D-05u; this should be a golden hour every afternoon.” PHILIP O’HANLON, ON A HIGHER NOTE
Last year “Prof” Keith Johnson waxed lyrical about this setup. Come and hear what all the Grammy-award winning, mixing and mastering engineers are so excited about. It should be a lot of fun. Room #410 Equipment List

May 24th, 2016—Best known for the classic song, “Killing Me Softly”, which was inspired by a poem she’d written, Lori Lieberman has gone on to record 17 records and CDs. Her newest, Ready For The Storm, now available as a Deluxe Double Record Set on 180 gram vinyl from Quality Record Pressings and is mixed by the legendary Bob Clearmountain. “I was thrilled that Bob was able to fit me into his packed schedule, between his work with the Rolling Stones, Sheryl Crowe, Paul McCartney and others! For this project, I intentionally kept the arrangements small and found that in doing so, the songs had more impact”. From her stellar version of Tom Paxton’s “Last Thing On My Mind” where the only instrument is her solo guitar and naked vocal, to the rousing “Lucky Life” which charted at number 4, and features her talented band mates and layered vocals, this recording is by far, her finest to date.

On a Higher Note and Shunyata Research are proud to sponsor the Lori Lieberman Band. Lori will be performing songs from the new release of her double set on vinyl, along with her talented group of musicians at the select high end audio show.

Accompanying her are: Jason Orme, Jessy Greene, Eric Holden, Carl Byron and Blair Sinta.

Following the concert she will be available to sign copies of Ready For The Storm.
