My wife has said, "enough!....get these boxes out of my house".
I hate to give them up without ever listening to these classical music pieces, but I likely never will give them a spin. I have four boxes approx 15"wide x 15"tall x 24"long of Columbia Masterworks blue label and RCA Victor red label 78s (there may be other labels or genres, I'm not sure) that weigh at least 80lbs per box and have been sitting for a few years in my home. Before that they spent 15 years in a Denver, CO dry/cool basement and before that in a radio station's storage facility. All properly stored on edge. All records (that I'm aware) are in plain brown or olive heavy paper sleeves, no covers. To my eye, they look a little dusty but unplayed....still shiny as heck. They were part of a radio stations 78 library.....about 1/1000th of that 78 library from what I understand (the remainder were thrown away in the early 1990's). Some of them that I've pulled to examine are 3 to 6 disc sets of symphonies and for all I know, every record may be a "set" like this. I recall seeing Heifetz, Beethoven, Dvorak, among others.
I don't want them to meet the same landfill-end and would like to give them away to somebody that will appreciate them. But, there is a catch:
So, does anyone want them or is the landfill going to get some shellac? PM me and post here if you're interested.
Thanks

- You must come get them or meet me a reasonable distance from my home (I'm in Avon, CO basically in the middle of the Colorado mountains)
- You must take all four boxes and no cherry picking for any gems
- You must not complain if they all end up being Mitch Miller 78's (just kidding)
- I will not ship any of these records, I don't have the time or energy
So, does anyone want them or is the landfill going to get some shellac? PM me and post here if you're interested.
Thanks
