  • SonicWeld Diverter 24/96, s/n0043

Some years ago I did a piece for an online forum where I reviewed a number of USB -> S/PDIF converters. This included listening to the M2Tech HiFace, the JKeny-modded HiFace, a Halide Bridge, an Audiphileo (don't recall the model/name) and an Empirical Audio Off-Ramp.

The Diverter resoundingly knocked them all into a cocked hat. So decisively that I bought one. <Gulp> I'd never considered spending that much money on something performing such a seemingly small function in the chain of musical reproduction.

It has proven very worthwhile and I've not regretted it.

My musical journey is now taking me into hi(gher) resolution digital recordings, something the 24/96 Diverter can't do. Whether I'll go for a Diverter HR giving 24/192 conversion, or trade in my Danish Audio Designs DAC and head down the (rabbit hole?) DSD route, I'm undecided, but regardless - the Diverter will have to go to get funds to put towards the next step. It's quite sad.

New price was US$1300. Does half of that seem about right? US $650

I'm in New Zealand but happy to ship worldwide. For reference, my eBay id is bekah-bundles with feedback of 507 over nearly 14 years!

I'll get a couple of pics posted shortly, but frankly there isn't much to see!
