    My low budget audiosystem

Here is a list of the components in my system.
Garrard 301 greasebearing a in custom plint, fitted with Rega RB 300 heavily modified with VTAF from Pete Riggle incl the Teflon upgrade, new wiring from Cardas, Counterweight from Michell Engineering UK, diy vibrationcontrol, fitted with a Goldring Legacy cartridge mc. connected with custombuilt NLE 17 phonostage (same as Dact 100, both made by Niels Larsen Denmark)
Thorens 166 MK II, lightly modified for now, here can be achieved a lot in time, fitted with my own built MMC/Benz diy cartridge, (moving micro cross) with Edwards phonostage MM 1.
Oppo 103 Eu connected to Micromega Myamp, used as dac with the Sabre ESS 9008 chip.
Heart of the system, custom built, my own design, dual mono shunted attenuator passive preamp with Takman metalfilm resistors and Charcroft Z-Foil resistor for 20 Kohm load out, inside solid aluminium chassis, using UPOCC singlecrystal silver 0.8 mm in teflontubes, US Jan ceramic shifter for 4 canal's dualmono, CMC silvered Chassismounted RCA, 4 % silversolder used.
2 x monoblocks Xindak 8800 MNE 25 Kohm´s load in, all connected with my own diy doubleshielded cable using Mundorf silver/gold wire and a no name brand silvered copper cable.
Speakercable Tara Labs RSC 500,quad double layered, for each terminal on the speakers.
Dynaudio Focus 220 frontspeaker used down to 45 hz, from 20-45 hz I use the Dali Suite 1.5 S subwoofers in dual mono left/right.
Other components are for the Surround system incl Denon 4308 receiver,Dynaudio 122 C center, Tangent frontspeaker, Energy rearspeakers, Oppo 103 Eu for bluray and dvd´s, streaming unit for tvprograms, Pioneer 50" plasma 5090, Dreamcast cables for connection + Diy cables, all driven from a separate powerline. Although you stated "low budget," I can tell you spend lots of time and effort building your system. I like it!
What are you using to crossover to your subs?

Weren't you also doing your own AC line filtration?

Nice setup! I love all the DIY pieces. What other ones did you try before landing with the Mundorf? Doesn't Siltech use the silver/gold combo too? And they are supposed to be very smooth sounding...

First I tried the natural first solution introducing an active filter into the system, but I did not like the resulting sound, its was the sound that made me build my own passive shunted attenuator in the pre stage, to my ears electronics most times gets in the way of natural sounding music.
So I took the painstaking process of doing it the passive way, although I had to use the options frequency, gain, and phase in my active subwoofers to do so and adjusting until the subwoofers and the main speakers sounded as one speaker and believe me this takes time and patience until you get it right

In a way I do, I have to use a passive high quality AC filter + a high quality AC separation transformer + using dedicated ground for the system, the key here is to do the ground from one point to the earth ground in my garden
resulting in less then 3 volt AC out to the earthground, the result is pitchblack and noise free background when playing music.
All components in a system see each other through the AC connection and the line cables used in the system, hence using the one point connection from the AC filter to earth ground in my garden with a target of less then 3 volt AC, zero volt is not possible here.

Good job. This is one area I was never successful in.. So are you playing the subs on top of the main speakers, I assume?

New recording from my system, late night

I have been ill for some time, but things are getting better and I have energy to get into listening to music again and write a little again on this site.

The Mundorf silver/gold wire was bought at Hificollective.UK in the version without shielding

The UPOCC silver wire o.8 m/m was bought in Taiwan, but they are long out of stock now

My upload this time is from my second leg analogue system, with Edwards MM1 Phono stage, and the vintage Thorens 166 MK II lightly modified with diy vibration control and Audio Note QSCC silver tonearm cable and my own diy B&O mmc/Benz boron-fineline cantilever, body is from a Ortofon MC 200 cartridge, its from a time where my eyesight was better then now.
I hope you will survive the playback from my modest smart phone
