  • Rain in Central Jersey Yesterday

Had to pick up my wife at the train station late yesterday afternoon. Torrential rain made it hard to see while driving and some local flooding where we were (near farms). But I was not prepared to see this at my daily commuting train station where I picked up my wife:

The stairs were flooded, and as I pan to the left, that's a tunnel leading to the other side of the tracks. It's about 9-10 feet high and 50-60' long, if not longer. Completely flooded.

Here's another view from inside the car that shows just how much rain we were getting:

Will be interesting during Monday morning's commute...

Thanks, Myles, all good here. And my gear, in my basement, is safe and sound. Seems the extreme cases of flooding was pretty isolated, thank goodness.

Great to hear! Mine is in the basement as well, and we've also had some flooding in parts of the city. I'm not overly concerned, but you just never know.

Heh - I know that train station. It's only a few miles away from where I grew up. I've taken the train to NYC from there many, many times.
Glad to hear that things have subsided and no lasting damage was done.

Yes, I commuted from Princeton Junction one summer when living in Princeton. Know that station well.
