  • Oldest Leica Camera Sold for $406K

I still have my father's F3 in storage that used that same leather case!

A fabulous piece of photographic history just sold at auction for $406,000, more than twice the estimated haul. This Nikon One was the third production camera..

Back in the early 1970s (high school days) when my Leica 1A (serial #7708) broke, E. Leitz in New Jersey sent me a check for $200 when they said they couldn't fix it for a reasonable price. My dad had bought that camera in Frankfurt, Germany shortly after the war.

Oh, nice, but that is a Nikon Myles ...

Is it a Nikon F3 or a Leica IIIF you have?
I have the Nikon F3 and a Leica IIF.
Use them both now and again.

My old IIF is a horror to use. Guess IIIF is about the same.
It's not worth the bother or the money to have it fixed.
But they look nice on a shelf at home!

Yes viewing through a rangefinder and need to use an external light meter. About only thing the camera is good for is still photography.
