That's a clickbait page. Most of those places have gone way past their sell by date. I recently ate at Hometown BBQ in Red Hook. It was exceptionally good. Ate at Hill Country about 4 months ago. Still serving up a very high standard of Central Texas style BBQ. Fette Sau in Williamsburg is also excellent. Mighty Quinn's turns out some fine brisket. Adam Perry Lang's Daisy May's BBQ has a spectacular beef dinosaur rib although the location blows.

We all have our favorites but any article that has Dallas BBQ in it as a jumping off point deserves to be buried in a landfill. The only jump Dallas will cause you to make is off a cliff and to never try BBQ again.

I smoked ribs yesterday. Wasn't my best but didn't suck either.

Laser knows more about this subject than anyone I know and he makes some great barb. Here in San Diego my favorite so far is Ocean Beach Barbeque. I don't know what the style is.

have you been to Phil's BBQ on Sports Arena Blvd? I guess they're known for their beef ribs, it was just awright... finding really good BBQ in Cali is like trying to locate a good sushi ya in the Midwest.

I went there for a long time. Particularly because I have an audio friend who lives a few hundred years away. The lines snake around the building morning noon and nite. Not because it's the last word in barbecue but because it's cheap. Ocean Beach is probably double the price and 3 times as good. I find good barbecue tough to find almost anywhere. But the styles and peoples tastes are so disparate. Now if you are talking Mexican San Diego is heaven. The smaller and more obscure the place the better.

I live in the SF Bay area and unfortunately I haven't found really good barbecue here. When I lived in the NY suburbs, my favorite place was a small roadside place called Big W's. They've now moved into a real building and are in Wingdale, NY - about 1 1/2 hours north of Manhattan. Haven't been there in a few years but if the quality has held up then it's definitely worth the drive.

Yes that was my thought too. Dallas BBQ is awful now. And Blue Smoke is just okay. Rather go to the Jazz Standard downstairs and just enjoy some music. 😄 OTOH there were some good places listed too.

Have you been to Danny Meyer's BBQ fest in the city? Blocks long now, packed to the gills and the best bring their smokers hooked up to their trucks.

BBQ is undergoing a bit of a surge in NYC. I can name at least r places that you can get BBQ as good as most places in the country. Most are transplants to NYC and it doesn't originate here but you can get a wide variety of styles unlike some places.
